The Yalta Conference was held in February 1945, which was when the heads of government of the United States, the Soviet Union, and the United Kingdom discussed the postwar reorganization of Germany and Europe. The Germans had been pushed back by the allied army. At the Yalta Conference the allied leaders discussed the future of Germany and Eastern Europe. This was the beginning of what later would be known as the Cold War. At the Yalta Conference, Stalin also agreed to Soviet participation in the United Nations.
